Delete your Rally account

Last updated: July 25, 2026

Rally is an events and group-planning app for New York City, operated by Andrea D'Arpa. This page explains how to delete your Rally account, what happens to your data when you do, and what to do if you can't sign in.

Delete it yourself, in the app

This is the fastest route, and it works on iOS, Android, and the web app. It takes about ten seconds.

  1. Open Rally and make sure you're signed in.
  2. Tap your profile picture in the top-right corner of the screen. That opens Settings.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
  4. Read the confirmation, then tap Delete forever.

There is no grace period and no undo. The deletion runs immediately, as a single operation. Once it finishes, your account and its data are gone and cannot be restored — not by you and not by us. If you only want a break, log out instead.

If you can't sign in

If you've lost access to your account and can't reach the in-app button, email hello@tryrallynow.com from the email address on the account, with "Delete my account" in the subject line.

Sending from the account's own email address is what lets us confirm it's really you. If that address is also gone, tell us what you can — the name on the profile, roughly when you joined, the sign-in method you used — and we'll work out how to verify you before deleting anything. We reply within 30 days and usually within a few days. We won't ask you for your password.

What gets deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes:

Your newsletter subscription ends at the same time, because the opt-in lives on the profile that gets deleted.

What stays, and why

Two things survive, both so that we don't delete other people's history along with yours:

If you'd like a specific message removed as well, email us before you delete your account and we'll take care of it while we can still confirm the message is yours.

How long it takes

Deleting from inside the app is immediate — your data is removed from Rally's live systems as you tap the button. Email requests are handled within 30 days of us verifying the request, and normally much sooner.

After that, routine encrypted database backups may still hold a copy for a short while until they roll over on their normal schedule. Those backups aren't reachable from the app or by anyone browsing Rally, and they are not used to restore deleted accounts. In rare cases we may retain a limited record where the law requires it — for example, to resolve a dispute or meet a legal obligation.

Deleting some data without deleting your account

You don't have to delete the whole account to clean things up. In the app you can edit or clear your profile photo, name, and interests; remove friends; leave conversations; unsave and unlike anything; delete plans you host; and turn off notifications and location access. Those changes take effect right away.
